The question today is not whether assessments are necessary, but whether we are administering the right kind. Unfortunately, today’s assessments often test a student’s memory rather than their understanding of concepts. These assessments fail to provide the assistance needed to enhance learning.
Instead of helping, test and exam marks are often used to compare and label students as ‘smart’ or ‘weak.’ This has created an atmosphere of intense competition, resulting in stress and poor self-esteem among children.
Why is an assessment important?
Many parents seek academic assessments to ensure their child is working to their full potential and to receive an honest evaluation of their current achievement and future prospects.

How does an Educational MOT assessment work?
Children meet with Diane, our educational consultant, either in person or online. They have a brief chat about learning before sitting a series of assessment tests tailored to their age group. The process takes between 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the child’s age.
These tests give a clear indication of your child’s current academic level, strengths, and development needs. They also provide a guide to their potential and whether they are achieving it. Our service is among the few that offer assessments indicating academic potential.
After the assessment, parents receive some verbal feedback followed by a detailed report (emailed within a week). The report highlights your child’s potential, current performance, and areas where additional support might be beneficial. It comes with a tailored learning plan that provides easy-to-follow, fun activities designed to fill development gaps and boost learning.

The assessment process is designed to be stress-free. Diane, our educational consultant, ensures children feel at ease, and feedback consistently shows that children enjoy the experience and feel happy and relaxed afterwards.
